Zheng Liang

Zheng Liang was born in Hunan Province, China, in 1940. He received the M.S. degree in electronics and physics from Chengdu Institute of Radio Engineering [currently the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC)], Chengdu, China, in 1966. During 1981–1983, he was a Visiting Scholar with Yale University, New Haven, CT, where he worked on the research of plasma electronics. During 1987–2001, he mainly worked on free electron lasers at millimeter-waveband and led the construction of relativistic backward-wave oscillator free-electron laser devices. Since 1990, he has been a Professor in optics with UESTC. His research interests include intense radiation (i.e., free electron laser, plasma laser, Cerencov laser), quasi-optics, and electromagnetic biomedicine effect.
