Gabriel Rangel

My primary professional interest is alleviating the burden of infectious diseases that primarily impact impoverished people in developing communities. I firmly believe that only through basic research, effective communication amongst both scientists and the general public, and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of scientists will we be able to maximize our progress in developing novel experimental tools and clinical therapeutics to combat pathogens that pose the most significant threat to global health. Therefore, it has been and continues to be my aim during my graduate training to cultivate these specific skills, and it is my hope that the invaluable training I am receiving will provide me with the necessary experience to not only participate in but play a leadership role in the fight against infectious disease.
