Zhendong Zhang

Zhendong Zhang received the B.Sc. degree in geophysical prospecting from China University of Petroleum (Beijing), Beijing, China, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, in 2019. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Key Laboratory of Petroleum Resources Research, Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. His research interests include global mantle discontinuities, numerical solutions for pseudoacoustic wave equations, finding optimal objective functions for elastic full-waveform inversion (FWI), deep-learning-aided regularization for multiparameter estimation, and surface wave inversion. Dr. Zhang was a recipient of the Geophysics Reviewer of the Year Award at the Society of Exploration Geophysics in 2022. He is an Associate Editor of Geophysics.
