I have over a decade of spaceflight systems and development experience with payloads launched on Space Shuttle, HTV-II, Cygnus, and Dragon to the International Space Station (ISS) (and soon in Artemis I's Orion), serving in capacities including payload engineering, R&D, STEM outreach, or as implementation project manager, Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Investigator (Co-I) on 19 scientific and/or engineering projects conducted in space, and as Co-Director (Co-PI) of a CubeSat that operated on Earth’s orbit. Experience includes proposal writing, experiment design, engineering design reviews, research & development, testing, documentation, integration, operations of payloads ranging from cancer research in space to biofilm formation and biological ISRU. I speak Spanish, English, Portuguese, and German. I am the co-author or co-editor of three books (including Springer's Handbook of Space Pharmaceuticals), one book chapter, 14 peer-reviewed journal papers, and 70+ conference papers/abstracts/posters.
