Mr. Wang has worked with SAS software since 1987 and has been in the healthcare field since 1997. He was certified as a SAS Programmer in 2004. Mr. Wang’s research activities primarily involve the use of statistical analytic methods for quality of care research and health care-related informatics. He has extensive knowledge and experience with abstracted medical record data (e.g., DIG, CCP, CC3, NHF and others) and claims data (e.g., Medicare Part A, Part B data, outpatient data, and others), as well as with modeling such data using hierarchical linear modeling and survey data analysis techniques. Mr. Wang has worked on developing and validating the Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI, Heart Failure (HF) and Pneumonia (PN) 30-day mortality measures directed by CMS, the measure maintenance of the AMI, HF and PN 30-day mortality measures, and contracts with the ACC for analyses on CathPCI and ICD registry data. Mr. Wang also led the analyses for developing new measures in registry data under CORE’s MQMS contract with CMS and has worked on numerous NIH grants.
