攻读博士阶段发现牛MHC I递呈病毒表位具有不同的构象形式,揭示了牛获得性免疫系统抵抗病毒感染的新型分子机制 (Li et. al, 2011, Journal of Virology)。博士后阶段主要从事宿主天然免疫系统对病毒核酸识别的分子机制研究,在美国德州农工大学工作期间,阐明了核酸感受器cGAS以二聚体形式,通过2:2的方式与dsDNA结合,发现了cGAS与dsDNA的第二个结合面B,为抗病毒感染和自身免疫性疾病治疗提供了全新靶点(Li et. al, 2013, Immunity);在美国北卡罗来纳大学教堂山分校工作期间,发现NOD样受体NLRC3是一种新型核酸感受器,对病毒dsDNA具有高亲和力,结合dsDNA后能显著提高NLRC3水解ATP能力,并释放对STING和TBK1的抑制作用 (Li et. al, 2019, Immunity)。获得2019年美国Keystone Symposium ”Innate Immune Receptors: Roles in Immunology and Beyond”会议奖金资助;2011年日本“International Research on Epidemiology of Zoonoses and Training for Young Researchers” 会议奖金资助;中国农业大学科研成就奖;中国农业大学优秀毕业生;2011年全国兽医学博士论坛最佳学术奖。研究兴趣主要集中在宿主天然免疫核酸感受器对病毒感染的免疫调节和病毒逃逸宿主天然免疫核酸感受器识别的分子机制。
