William R. Sherman

William R. Sherman is a computer scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD, 20899, USA. His research interests include scientific visualization, virtual reality interfaces, and especially the melding of the two as immersive visualization. He also actively works to promote standards, especially open-source implementations, within the immersive visualization community. Sherman received his M.Sc. degree in computer science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Urbana, IL, USA.
