Wen Zhang

Wen Zhang is currently the faculty member of NJIT’s Newark College of Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering as an assistant professor. Wen is a Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) registered in the State of Delaware. Wen graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with PhD in Environmental Engineering in 2011. He received master degree and bachelor degree from Tongji and Tsinghua Universities respectively in 2007 and 2004. His research areas include fate and environmental implications of engineered nanomaterials, photocatalytic hydrogen production, environmental nanotechnology for pollution degradation, and algal biomass harvesting and applications for nutrient removal and biofuel production. Wen has published more than 33 peer-reviewed journal articles with H index of 13. Wen was a research Fellow funded by the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC). In 2011, he received the Simon Karecki Award from the Global Research Collaboration and SEMATECH Engineering Research Center for Environmentally Benign Semiconductor Manufacturing. He was the recipient of 2012 CH2M Hill/AEESP Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP). In 2013, he received CIBA/ACS Younger Chemists Committee (YCC) Young Scientist Travel Award.
