Victor Murray (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. (high honors, ranked first in the class) degree in electrical engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Lima, Peru, in 2003 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of New Mexico (UNM), Albuquerque, NM, USA, in 2005 and 2008, respectively. He is currently a Professor and Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Universidad de Ingeniería y Tecnología (UTEC), Lima, Peru, and Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), UNM. He has considerable experience in developing adaptive reconfigurable hardware, based on field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), for the Air Force Research Laboratory, and developing methods and algorithms in medical imaging for detecting diseases in collaboration to, mainly, VisionQuest Biomedical, Albuquerque, NM, USA and the University of Cyprus, Nicosia, Cyprus. His research interests include amplitude modulation-frequency modulation (AM-FM) methods, digital image and video processing, medical imaging, and hardware design using very high descriptive language (VHDL), and FPGAs. Dr. Murray was the Research Director of the ECE's Image and Video Processing and Communication Lab (2009–2012). He was a recipient of the STC.UNM Innovation Award at UNM in 2014 and 2015.
