Varun Raghunathan

Varun Raghunathan (Senior Member IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, USA, in 2008, working on silicon photonics. From 2009 to 2012, he was a Postdoctoral Scholar with the Department of Chemistry, University of California Irvine, Irvine, CA, USA, working in the area of nonlinear optical microscopy. He was a Research Scientist with Agilent Research Laboratories, Santa Clara, CA, USA, working in the areas of infrared micro-spectroscopy and applications of optical techniques to digital pathology. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. His research interests include nonlinear optics, integrated photonics, resonant metasurfaces, optical communication, and quantum communications.
