个人简介
My research (1990-current) focuses on the study of the ionizing and non-ionizing radiation effect on the thermoluminescence and cathodoluminescence (CL) properties of natural, ceramic and synthetic materials. The main aim has been/is to try to improve the accuracy and precision of the measurements made for the dose assessment for its application in the fields of dosimetry (environmental and retrospective luminescence dosimetry, irradiated food, geological and archaeological dating or UV radiation). This study must be supported by a previous characterization of the materials using XRD, XRF, Raman, ESEM, CL, RL, TEM, EPMA, FTIR, etc. to determine their potential use as dosimeters.
The results obtained, which fall within the aims described in 37 R&D projects/contracts (head of the project in 10 of them), have given rise to 180 publications (148 SCI; h-index 26); 128 communications to Congresses (8 invited), 33 invited talks (9 internationals), 3 supervised doctoral theses and 1 in progress, and 9 master's theses. Additionally, I have participated in (i) organizing R&D activities (9 congresses and 11 courses) and (ii) managing R&D actions evaluating more than 80 projects from different Agencies (Foundation for Polish Science, National Center of Science and Technology Evaluation Ministry of Education and Science (Kazakhstan), PICT (Scientific and Technological Research Projects) of Argentina, INNPACTO and RETOS (Spain).
I am a regular reviewer of articles for more than 55 journals and I am part of the editorial panel of 3 journals (Applied Radiation Isotopes Journal, International Journal of Trends and Technologies in Food Processing and Journal of Radiation and Nuclear Medicine). I participate in EURADOS (European Radiation Dosimetry Group, WG 10- Retrospective Dosimetry) sponsored by the EU since 2010, in REPROLAM (Red de Optimización de Protección Radiológica Ocupacional de Latinoamérica y Caribe) since 2023 and collaborate also with IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) since November of 2021.
