As a young investigator , I have an international academic career in the air pollution modeling field. I have participated in large FP7 projects and built up a strong international network and collaborate with European and North American institute. Therefore I am very well recognized in the regional air quality modelling community. I am highly experienced in atmospheric modelling from urban to continental scales as well as in big data handling and analyses. I am (co-) chairing and contributing to the organization of modelling sessions in two large international conferences. Ulas has a background in environmental sciences, with 15 years of experience in air pollution modelling. I have worked on atmospheric short- and long-range chemistry/transport modelling, measurement and modelling of aerosol chemical composition, development of model-ready anthropogenic emission inventories and multi-model performance evaluations. Main research interests: The physical and chemical processes in the atmosphere and impacts of anthropogenic and natural sources on air quality levels from local to regional scales using short- and long-range chemistry-transport modelling. Interested in integrated high-resolution forecasting of weather and air pollution from local to global scale as well as exposure and effect models that can provide scientific basis for decision support and information of the public. Basic scientific disciplines: Atmospheric physics, meteorology, climate change, chemistry, mathematics, advanced numerical methods, computer science, statistics, validation, evaluation and visualization techniques for use in meteorological and air pollution models at all scales. Present research areas: Multi-model evaluation systems, impacts of air pollution on human health and the environment, climate change and chemistry interactions and feedback mechanisms, modelling air pollution in street canyons.
