Tom Oosterloo

Tom Oosterloo received the Ph.D. degree in 1988. He is a Senior Astronomer with the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON), Dwingeloo, The Netherlands, and an Assistant Professor with the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute, Groningen University, Groningen, The Netherlands. After finishing his Ph.D. studies, he held several post-doctoral positions in both radio and optical astronomy. Since 1999, he has been with ASTRON, where he spends most of his time on astronomical research, but he is also involved in technical programs the relating to the telescopes operated by ASTRON. He is Principal Investigator of APERTIF, the Phased Array Feed upgrade of the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope. He is a member of the time allocations committee of several radio telescopes. He is (co)author of 115 peer-reviewed papers.
