I am an immunologist focusing on translational rheumatology with academic and industrial research experience in autoimmune diseases. My research focus is to 1) determine the factors and mechanisms regulating selection and activation of autoreactive B cells in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), 2) investigate how neutrophil activation and neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation contribute to development of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis (SSc) and polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR), and 3)identify novel neutrophils, T cells and mitochondria-related soluble biomarkers associated with inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, like rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and exploring their clinical utility, including monitoring of disease activity, disease progression and treatment response.
