Thomas Cornulier

I am a population ecologist and applied statistician, effectively working in a broad range of fields across biology. My core interests lie in understanding variation in animal population size over space and time. My work includes using hierarchical models with Bayesian statistical approaches for 1) developing integrated, process-based models of systems dynamics (e.g. population, soil,...), combining data from different sources to inform each process and 2) making the most efficient use of opportunistic data, such as historical records or volunteer-based surveys. I also have interests in spatial statistics and models for observation error, smoothing methods, integrated population models and spatial or temporal lags in systems' responses to environmental variation.
