Steven Compernolle

I studied chemistry at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, obtaining my master in 2000 and my PhD in 2004. During 2004-2007 I worked as a postdoc at the KU Leuven and at imec. Research interest at the time was electronic properties of carbon nanotubes, nanocones and nanocages. Since 2007, I work as a scientist at the Belgian Institute of Space Aeronomy. From 2007-2015, I was a member of the tropospheric modelling group, with a focus on atmospheric chemistry and gas-particle partitioning modeling. Since 2015, I work at the 'synergistic exploitation of atmospheric data', on quality assessment of satellite measurements of atmospheric species (e.g., nitrogen dioxide, formaldehyde). I contribute to the operational validation of data products from the Sentinel 5-p\TROPOMI satellite.
