I deal with Earth Sciences: Tectonic Geomorphology; Quantitative geomorphology; Geochronology; Geophysics; Paleoseismology; Structural geology; Geological mapping. I analyse the mechanisms and the speed of sedimentary and geomorphological processes of continental and coastal landscapes in tectonically active areas. I identify the Quaternary evolution in relation to tectonic structures at different time scales. This is to characterize the geometric and behavioral parameters of the active fault systems, as essential inputs for the evaluation of the seismic hazard. The research focus on several natural laboratories of different tectonic context and high seismogenic potential, ranging from Italy (Apennines and Sicily) to Turkey, Greece, California, Nevada, Africa, Mongolia and Japan.
