Bio
Currently, Stefan is working on regulatory aspects of central carbon and amino acid metabolism, including redox-regulation and metabolite signaling mechanisms between the different metabolic branches. Thereby, the potential role of photorespiratory metabolites in adjusting plant metabolism towards changes in the prevailing environmental conditions is of major interest. During his work he uses a combination of genetic engineering, biochemical, gas-exchange and metabolite profiling approaches, particularly in the model organism Arabidopsis thaliana.
