Sean Carey

Sean Carey received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY, USA, in 1988 and the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, in 1999. He has led several generations of System-Z processor design in the areas of frequency optimization and timing methodology development. He has also led the hardware characterization and analysis efforts for these designs focusing on frequency/power and yield from the lab all the way through manufacturing. He is a Senior Technical Staff Member whose focus is on power-efficient high-frequency design and methodology as well as hardware analysis. He is currently heading the system characterization effort of one of the System Z’s future designs.
