Bio
Asssistant Professor at the Bioprocess Engineering division at Wageningen University. Research interests involve the systematic study of microalgal physiology and metabolism through molecular techniques (i.e. bioengineering, gene editing, omics analysis) in order to exploit microalgae for natural product chemistry, including nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, biofuels and new materials. Expertise includes biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, biophysics, analytical chemistry, bioinformatics. Main activities regard strain engineering, metabolic engineering, omics analysis, nutraceutical production, bioprocess development. More than 6 years of experience at academic level and 2 years at industrial level with microalgae.
