Bio

My research focuses on surface ocean circulation and Arctic sea ice during the Quaternary and Neogene. I am using marine palynology and organic geochemistry (biomarkers), and am actively developing environmental ancient DNA as a novel tool for sea ice reconstructions. I have long experience with Quaternary and Neogene palaeoenvironmental studies and biostratigraphy using dinoflagellate cysts in the North Sea, Nordic Seas, North Atlantic and North Pacific.
