Samir A. Ahmed

Sam Ahmed received the B.A. and M.A. degrees in engineering from the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, U.K., in 1956 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from University College London, London, U.K., in 1959. He is currently the Herbert Kayser Professor of Electrical Engineering with The City College of New York, New York, NY, USA. He is a pioneer in the Optical Remote Sensing Laboratory. His current interests are in optical remote sensing of the atmosphere and oceans and laser applications, including LIDAR, spectroscopy, and communications.
