At Google, his research has focused primarily on developing compact acoustic models which can run efficiently on mobile devices, and on developing improved end-to-end automatic speech recognition systems. Rohit has co-authored over 50 refereed papers, which have received two best paper awards (ASRU 2017; ICASSP 2018). He currently serves as a member of the IEEE Speech and Language Processing Technical Committee (2018-2021) and as an associate editor of the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing.
