I am a postdoctoral researcher at University of California at Irvine (UCI). I develop statistical machine learning methods that can detect subtle signals in noisy data sets. My work on probabilistic embedding models combines representation learning with the invention of specialized scalable approximate Bayesian inference algorithms, often drawing on ideas from my background in statistical physics.
