Robert J Dengler

Robert Dengler (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical and computer engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, CA, USA, in March 1989. He began his work at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, CA, USA, in 1988 developing antenna pattern acquisition and analysis software. Since then, he has been involved in the design and construction of submillimeter-wave receivers and components, including design and fabrication of test instrumentation for submillimeter mixers. He has worked with THz active and passive imaging systems, including design and construction of a 2.5-THz biosample transmission imaging system having 110 dB of dynamic range and an FMCW imaging radar system for contraband detection. His research interests include THz FMCW radar for nonimaging applications, such as detection of ice and dust from comets, and differential absorption for humidity measurement inside clouds.
