Dr. Dart is a physician specializing in emergency medicine and toxicology. His research interests include the epidemiology of substance abuse, snake and spider envenomation and the toxicity of many drugs like cough and cold products, acetaminophen and laundry pods. He is Executive Director of Researched Abuse, Diversion, and Addiction-Related Surveillance (RADARS®) System. He has published more than 300 publications as well as three textbooks. Has been recognized with a special citation from the Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. He is a recipient of the Matthew J. Ellenhorn Award for Excellence in Medical Toxicology as well as the Career Achievement Award from the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology.. He also serves as a Deputy Editor of the medical journal Annals of Emergency Medicine and is past-president of the American Association of Poison Control Centers.
