He is focusing on analytical tools for the investigation of licit and illicit drug residues in water before joining the Population Health Chemistry Group at the University of South Australia in 2017, where his research focussed on the development of quantitative and qualitative methods for the determination of illicit drugs in wastewater. He is involved with the National Wastewater Drug Monitoring Program, funded by the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, in collaboration with the University of South Australia. His current research interests are associated with the development of analytical methods for the determination of new psychoactive substances in wastewater. These methods have been applied locally, nationwide and internationally to provide an insight on their prevalence.
