Amish N. Raval

Amish N. Raval MD is a Professor of Medicine and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is the Director of Clinical Cardiovascular Research and Director of the UW Health ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction Program. He is a highly accomplished Interventional Cardiologist with > 20 years of experience in structural heart (TAVR, MitraClip), vascular and complex coronary interventions. His research focus in regenerative medicine includes the development of therapeutic biologic agents (cells, scaffolds, genes) and their delivery for cardiac and vascular disease. He has been national Principal Investigator of several cell therapy and other biologic trials including the Stem Cell Revascularization in Patients with Critical Limb Ischemia (SCRIPT-CLI) trial for which he was the FDA IND holder, and the CardiAMP HF pivotal IDE trial. His laboratory is funded through a combination sources including the NIH, State of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, Industry Sponsored Research and Philanthropic donations. He has led National AHA Scientific Statements and served on numerous committees. Dr. Raval has advised numerous biotech companies at various stages of clinical development. He has authored >150 peer reviewed publications, book chapters and patents and has served as Editor on 3 medical text books. Finally, Dr. Amish Raval is Board Chairman for Cellular Logistics Inc, Madison, WI which is a mid-stage life sciences company developing a highly novel cell-derived biomaterial for treating advanced heart and vascular disease.
