Rasa Zalakeviciute received the M.Sc. degree in ecology from Vilnius University, Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2001, the M.Sc. degree in environmental engineering and sustainable infrastructure from the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden, in 2003, and the Ph.D. degree in engineering sciences from Washington State University, Pullman, WA, USA, in 2011, where she focused on urban air pollution monitoring, micrometeorology, and eddy covariance flux measurements of trace gases and particulate matter. From 2011 to 2013, she worked as an Environmental Engineer (Post-Doctoral Fellow) with Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA. She is currently with the Universidad de Las Americas, Quito, Ecuador, where she teaches undergraduate level environmental engineering and graduate level occupational health classes and is leading research on air quality monitoring, urban pollution mapping, radioactivity, and climate change, among other investigations. She is also a member of three research groups at the Universidad de Las Americas. She is also is a Co-Director of the Biodiversity, Environment and Health (BIOMAS) Group and a member of Urban Dynamics in Latin America (DUTL) and Smart and Interactive Systems (SI2Lab) research groups.
