Raphael Jamier was born in Périgueux, France, in 1981. He received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Limoges, France, in 2007. Since 2008, he has been an Assistant Professor with the XLIM Research Institute/University of Limoges, where he has been involved in design, fabrication, and characterization of specialty optical fibers. He has been the Deputy Director of the Physics Department, University of Limoges, since 2012. He has authored or co-authored 27 articles in refereed journals and 58 papers in internationally recognized conferences with peer-reviewed systems, and he holds two patents. His current research activities include the design, fabrication, and characterization of photonic crystal fibers for high-power generation at unconventional spectral domains (in particular in the mid-infrared wavelengths).
