Raffaele Renella MD PhD studied Medicine in Geneva and trained in Pediatrics in Lausanne (Switzerland) and Paris (France). He obtained a PhD in Molecular Hematology at the University of Oxford (UK), before joining the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Children's Hospital Boston and Harvard Medical School (USA). Since 2015 he works at the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV) where he focuses on the biology of hematopoiesis, myelodysplasia, and gene therapy for hemoglobin disorders.
