My main research and clinical interests are occupational respiratory toxicology and occupational obstructive lung diseases. Since late 2002, I have followed and characterized the heterogeneous group of chronic lower airway and other diseases temporally associated with occupational toxicant exposures at the WTC disaster site, from initial clinical descriptions, to the investigation of their imaging, and functional correlates, and the impact of occupational exposures, obesity, and smoking.
