He has been working in Imola since 2002, where he is now director of the gastrointestinal unit.

Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) represents his main interest both for patients care and clinical research. He is also active in operative endoscopy and hepatology. He is an expert in pancreaticobiliary and gut wall benign and malignant conditions and has developed contrast harmonic EUS, transforming it from a prototype technique to a well-established one.

Prof. Fusaroli lectured worldwide and participated in courses and live demonstrations.

Prof. Fusaroli authored more than 120 peer-reviewed journal publications. He is member of the editorial boards of the journals Endoscopy and Endoscopic Ultrasound. He is director of the Master in “Advanced Endoscopy” and Professor of the “Specialization School in Gastroenterology”.
