Philipp Zhang

Philipp Zhang (Chen-Xiong Zhang) received the B.S. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Karlsruhe (now KIT), Karlsruhe, Germany, all in electrical engineering. From 1991 to 1995, he was with the SIEMENS Microelectronic Center, Hamburg, Germany. In 1995, he transferred to Interphase Corporation, Dallas, TX, USA. After that, he worked in a couple of start-up companies as CEO/CTO. Since 2005, he has been with the Huawei Technologies, Shenzhen, China, as a Chief Scientist, and is currently in charge of corporate research programs and projects. He is the author of six books and book chapters. He has authored or coauthored more than 100 technical papers and holds a number of German and U.S. patents. Dr. Zhang was the recipient of two EU RACE Awards, the Best Paper Award at the IEEE IJCNN, and an Outstanding Research Activity Award from the state of Baden-Wuertemberg, Germany.
