My general training and specialization is biology, genetics and plant plant genetics. I obtained my PhD from Comenius University (Bratislava, Slovakia), with my thesis focusing on a new disease resistance gene discovered in tetraploid wheat and exploring new approaches in gene mapping based on a combination of PCR markers and flow-sorted chromosomal arms. During my post-doctoral period, I worked on two different subjects: A. Domestication and adaptation of cereal crops (wheat, barley, rice). Through population genomics approaches, I studied domestication-related processes - selection, gene-flow and adaptation. B. Origin and early evolution of land plants. Through time- and data-heterogenous substitution models applied on organellar genomes, I studies the phylogeny of streptophytes, in particular the relationships among different clades of charophytic algae (Zygnematophyceae, Coleochaetophyceae, Charophyceae) and land plants (embryophytes), and among Bryophytes and tracheophytes. In 2018, I succeeded in a competitive call for a junior researcher (CRCN) at INRA (now INRAE). I joined the PaleoEvo Research group in Clermont-Ferrand, and my research focuses on polyploidization-induced evolutionary changes in wheat, through analysis of omic data (genomic, transcriptomic, methylomic).
