Peter Bunting

Dr. Pete Bunting is a reader within the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences (DGES; http://www.aber.ac.uk/dges) at Aberystwyth University. He joined the Department in 2004 where he undertook his PhD. He started as a lecturer in remote sensing in 2007. He returned to Aberystwyth as a senior lecturer in 2012 and was promoted to Reader in 2015. Prior to joining the Department,​ he undertook his undergraduate degree in Computer Science, also at Aberystwyth University. Pete has also worked for Landsat Research (NZ) 2011-2012 as a researcher. Dr. Bunting's research has generated a lot of software much of this software available as publically and freely available open source software projects. Specifically, the Remote Sensing and GIS software library (RSGISLib; http://www.rsgislib.org), the sorted pulse data software library (SPDLib; http://www.spdlib.org) and the KEA file format (http://www.kealib.org).
