Bio
His primary research interest is to design personalized treatment decision support and strategies through analytic morphomics, which are anatomically indexed information extracted from Computed Tomography (CT) images. Dr. Zhang has investigated the associations between morphomic fat measures and a number of clinical outcomes, and has consistently found that morphomic fat measures are better risk markers compared to routine demographics in revealing the heterogeneity of patient population. His past work includes studies of injuries in motor vehicle crashes, surgical site infections in hernia repair, and musculoskeletal quality degradation due to fat infiltration. Currently, he is extending his research to the area of type-2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
