Paresh Kumar Samantaray

Dr. Samantaray obtained his B. Tech in Plastics Engineering from CIPET, Bhubaneswar with the highest honors and GPA, and pursued MSc. Engg. and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science under Prof. Giridhar Madras and Prof. Suryasarathi Bose. From 2020-to early 2021, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with Prof. Chaoying Wan and Prof. Tony McNally at the International Institute for Nanocomposites Manufacturing (IINM), WMG, University of Warwick, UK pursuing challenging research on biodegradable and all-compostable polymer composites for packaging applications. His experience in polymer synthesis and processing techniques resulted in promising results in the field of compostable packaging with industrial Partner Pujin Chemical Industry Limited. Apart from this, he holds adept experience in designing antibacterial polymers and nanostructured materials for water filtration membranes, photocatalysis, seawater desalination, and toxic pollutant removal. He got awarded the Prestigious Fulbright scholarship 2021 for Postdoctoral research and is currently at the California Institute of Technology.
