Patricia Bessiere

My research interests focus on the role of active galactic nuclei in galaxy evolution. In particular, I am interested in how the highest luminosity AGN (quasars) are triggered and what impact they have on their host galaxies. I am exploring this theme using a variety of different techniques, using imaging, spectroscopic, spectropolarimetric and integral field data to investigate merger rates, stellar population properties, gas kinematics and gas ionisation mechanisms.
