Bio
Pascal Nicolay (SM’17) was born in Metz, France, in 1977. He received the Diploma in Engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Supérieure en Génie des Systèmes Industriels (ENSGSI), Nancy, France, in 2001, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in applied physics from Université de Lorraine, Nancy, in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and the Habilitation degree from Université de Technologie de Compiègne, Compiègne, France, in 2018.
He was a Chargé d’Affaires for the French Innovation Agency (OSEO), Paris, France, from 2001 to 2004. He was also a Research and Development Project Manager in the field of SAW RF filters and SAW wireless sensors for TDK-EPCOS and Carinthian Tech Research AG (CTR), Villach, Austria, from 2008 to 2011 and from 2011 to 2019, respectively. In 2019, he joined the Carinthia University of Applied Science, Villach, where he is currently the Director of the Carinthia Institute for Smart Materials and Manufacturing Technologies (CiSMAT). He also holds the KWF-endowed Professorship for Smart Materials.
