Oliver is a Clinical Associate Professor and Honorary Public Health Consultant at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute for Child Health. He holds a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship and is also a Consultant in Public Health at Milton Keynes City Council. He has broad expertise in public health approaches to responding to obesity. His research work is primarily focused on evaluation and evidence to inform public health approaches to prevent obesity through the promotion of physical activity and healthy eating. He is Co-Director of the NIHR Policy Research Unit for Healthy Weight and PI on two NIHR grants (both due to start in 2025).
