M. A. S. K. Khan (S'05) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2004, and the M.Eng. degree in electrical and computer engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland, St. John's, NL, Canada, in 2006 and 2009, respectively. He is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC, Canada. He has been serving as a Reviewer for the IET Journal on Renewable Power Generation and the IET Journal on Electric Power Applications. He has published 34 papers in IEEE Transactions and IEEE and IET conference proceedings. His research interests are permanent-magnet motor drives for hybrid electric vehicles, wind turbine generators, and grid interaction of sustainable energy sources. Dr. Khan has been an active member of the IEEE Industry Applications Society, the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, and the IEEE Power and Energy Society. He has volunteered in IEEE international conferences. He has been serving as a reviewer for the IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, and the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics. He served as the Chair of the IEEE NL GOLD affinity group from May 2009 to February 2010.
