Monoranjan Chowdhury currently works at the Department of Botany, University of North Bengal. Monoranjan does research in Systems Biology, Ethnobotany and Botany. Their current project is 'Exploring family Polygonaceae, Arecaceae, Linderniaceae, Rhamnaceae, wetland and Medicinal plants, Ethnobotany, Pollen Biology and molecular systematics of eastern Himalayan and sub- Himalayan part of India.
