Polemis Michalis

Mr Michalis Polemis is a biologist, biostatistician with 19 years of professional experience, having served 6 years at the National School of Public Health as a medical data manager and analyst and 13 years at the Central Public Health Laboratory of the National Public Health Organization as head of the National Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Network (WHONET-Greece). He is the national focal point for the Global Antimicrobial Surveillance System (GL.A.S.S. - WHO), the operational contact point for Bioinformatics (ECDC) and the national focal point for AMR for the EARS-net network (ECDC). Mr Polemis has participated in several national and international research projects (JAMRAI I, HERA I & II, Global Action in Healthcare Network (GAIHN), EURGen-RefLabCap, FWD AMR-RefLabCap, etc) He has extensive teaching experience focusing on AMR surveillance systems and medical data management and analysis. He has contributed to 26 peer-reviewed journal articles.
