Michael Häfner received the Dr. med. degree in medicine from the Medical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria and from Perugia, Italy. He was with Vienna Medical University, Vienna, where he was involved in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology. In 2009, he became Head of Internal Medicine, St. Elisabeth Hospital, Vienna. His current research interests include diagnostic and interventional endoscopy.
