Ian is a Ph.D. student at NC State University in the Center for Geospatial Analytics, studying multi-source, near real-time deforestation monitoring. Previously, Ian was at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute, where he focused on forest ecology research as part of the Forest Global Earth Observatory (ForestGEO). Interests include wildlife monitoring, dendroecology, drones, and rewilding for habitat corridors.
