Mauro Dalla Mura

Mauro Dalla Mura (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in telecommunication engineering from the University of Trento, Trento, Italy, in 2005 and 2007, respectively, and the joint Ph.D. degree in information and communication technologies (telecommunications area) from the University of Trento and in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Iceland, Reykjavik, Iceland, in 2011. In 2011, he was a Research Fellow with the Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Trento, conducting research on computer vision. He has been an Assistant Professor with the Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble INP), University of Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble, France, since 2012. He is conducting his research at the Grenoble Images Speech Signals and Automatics Laboratory (GIPSA-Lab), University of Grenoble Alpes. He is a Junior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France, Paris, France, for the term 2021–2026. He was appointed as a “Specially Appointed Associate Professor” at the School of Computing, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan, for the term 2019–2022. His main research activities are in the fields of remote sensing, computational imaging, and image and signal processing. Dr. Dalla Mura was a recipient of the IEEE GRSS Second Prize in the Student Paper Competition of the IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) 2011 and a co-recipient of the Best Paper Award of the International Journal of Image and Data Fusion for the year 2012–2013 and the Symposium Paper Award of IEEE IGARSS 2014. He was the IEEE GRSS Chapter’s Committee Chair from 2020 to 2021. He was the President of the IEEE GRSS French Chapter from 2016 to 2020, for which he previously served as a Secretary from 2013 to 2016. In 2017, the IEEE GRSS French Chapter was the recipient of the IEEE GRSS Chapter Award and the “Chapter of the Year 2017” from the IEEE French Section. He has been on the Editorial Board of the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing (J-STARS) since 2016.
