Matthias Gijsen

My postdoctoral research focuses on developing optimized antibacterial dosing regimens - with a specific focus on augmented renal clearance - and studying their clinical benefit in adult and pediatric patients with severe bacterial infections. Next, I will also investigate the relevance of ARC-based dose optimization for non-antibacterial drugs with major renal clearance. The insights procured will serve to develop a patient-oriented and covariate driven approach for (antibiotic) dosing.
