Since moving to the Centro i~mar my research has been refocused on the meiofauna of Chilean Patagonia. Though the Lund expedition reports provide a significant amount of taxonomic information on the meiofauna of the region, particularly the nematodes, the ecology of the meiofauna in this area has hardly been studied. Over the last few years I have been sampling the meiofauna of three beaches around Puerto Montt on a monthly basis, and I intend to keep that sampling regime going until I retire. My principal access to samples from deeper waters in the more remote fjords and channels has been through the CIMAR-Fiordos program run by the Chilean Navy. I have so far participated in the CIMAR19 and CIMAR24 expeditions.
