Matt Montanaro

Matthew Montanaro received the B.S. degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree in imaging science from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Rochester, NY, USA, in 2005 and 2009, respectively. He is currently the Senior Research Scientist involved in the calibration of the thermal infrared imaging instruments for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD, USA, and the U.S. Geological Survey. He is also specialized in the calibration of the Thermal Infrared Sensor (TIRS) onboard Landsat 8, both preflight and on-orbit. He serves as the Deputy Calibration Lead for the upcoming Landsat 9/TIRS-2 instrument and serves on the Landsat Calibration and Validation Team. In addition, he has supported and advised a number of Imaging Science graduate and undergraduate students through RIT.
